About Us

Remember When...

  • you could schedule an appointment with YOUR doctor when YOU needed it?
  • you could see YOUR personal doctor the same day?
  • you could reach YOUR doctor any time, day or night?
  • treatments recommended by your doctor were the best for YOU, not for the insurance company?
  • your doctor had the time to talk to YOU and really listen?
  • you left your doctor's office informed and confident, not angry?

We do! WE OFFER THE KIND OF CARE WHERE:

  • you and your doctor form an alliance of trust.
  • decisions for your care are based on sound medical judgement, not business profit margins.
  • you, the patient, return to the center of the process.

Too Busy to See Me:

"I like my doctor but his office staff seems to be so busy and impatient, I usually give up before I get through to him/her."

"I feel like the front desk is a barrier to the kind of care I would like."

No Time:

"My doctor never seems to have time to listen to all my needs."

"I feel rushed when I go in and invariably leave with some of my questions unanswered. Then I have to make another appointment just to finish up."

Refers Me Out:

"It seems whenever I have a new problem, my doctor just refers me out to a specialist instead of taking care of things himself/herself. This means I have to wait for specialty appointments and lose more time from work to get things taken care of."

Impersonal Service:

"My doctor's schedule is so packed that if I need immediate care, I either have to wait for days or see a total stranger who has an opening. Then the new doctor doesn't have time to read through my old chart, so I'm not sure they really have a proper perspective on my problem."

Doctor Rushed:

"I get to my appointments on time but the doctor is usually running so far behind that I end up spending most of my time in the waiting room reading old magazines."

Talks Above Me:

"My doctor sometimes answers my questions in "medicalese" and I'm afraid to let him/her know that I don't really understand what he's talking about. So I come away more confused than ever."

Insurance Driven Care:

"I sometimes feel as though my doctor limits what he/she can do for me based on what my insurance will cover, rather than on what I really need. I want decisions based on our joint understanding of the situation, not on finances."

No Time For Wellness:

"My doctor is good at problem-solving when I am sick, but we never really have time to discuss wellness issues or preventive medicine. I'd like to get away from the "thumb-in-the-dike" mentality and start planning for a healthier future."

Are any of these statements true of you?

We welcome you to Guardian Family Care.  This is an innovative new form of primary care designed to re-invent the kind of personalized, readiy available care we used to enjoy; the kind of care where a patient and doctor form an alliance of trust and communication which allows for better health maintenance and individualized treatment plans; where decisions are based on sound medical judgement, not business profit margins, and where you, the patient, return to the center of the process.

Services Offered

In keeping with our goal of providing the most complete medical care possible, we follow a consistent process in assessment and treatment.

            1) Getting to know  you:   We have streamlined the usual collection of paperwork for your first visit. We will personally review this information with you to fill in gaps and make sure nothing of importance is missed. Unlike the busy, rushed medical system you are used to, we will take all the time YOU need to address your questions and concerns.

            2) Checking you out:   At your first convenience we will perform a comprehensive multi-system exam on you to rule out previously unnoticed or undiagnosed problems, and to serve as a baseline for future care. Don't be surprised if we tend to "talk you through this," as we believe you deserve and need to know what we know about your health. Unlike other traditional doctor's offices we have the relative luxury of taking all the time we need to carefully explain details of your health, pros and cons of diagnostic and treatment options and to answer any questions you might have.

            3) Committing to wellness:   Together we will go over such important factors for wellness as nutrition, preventive care, immunizations, exercise and risk factors. We want you to be as committed as we are to not just getting you well, but keeping you well. We will have you sign a "wellness agreement" to help you in your commitment to maintaining and improving your health.

            4) Asking your questions:  This is your golden opportunity to ask all the questions you have always wondered about regarding your health. We often find that patients who have been in a more traditional setting are initially reluctant to ask questions, but we believe that a good doctor is both healer and  teacher. Since we recognize that when you go to the doctor's office you may forget to mention some of your questions and concerns, we will make sure that you know how to contact us by phone, e-mail, fax, etc.

            5) Taking it to the next level:   Rather than simply providing you with "stop-gap" medicine or waiting for a problem to occur before we fix it, we are committed to preventing problems before they happen. Along these lines we provide you with information and education to help you be and stay healthy. Our approach is to address your health from the inside out. So we can prevent problems before they happen. If and when necessary we will order appropriate lab and imaging studies and talk to you about them beforehand so you will understand why they are needed. Then we will review the results with you in detail. Discovering problems early is perhaps the most important factor in resolving them. Taking medicine to the next level means supporting you, educating you and using prevention and early diagnosis as the best tools for providing the best health.

            6) Following through:   Subsequent visits and re-assessments will be scheduled as needed for follow-up of problems as they are identified. Just as a video reveals more than a snapshot, we encourage patients to schedule follow-up appointments to give us a better longitudinal grasp of their situation. We will be more available to you than any doctor you have ever had in the past. We ask that you take advantage of this improved communication so that we can closely and more effectively follow through with you in your prevention and treatment plan.
