Inhalants such as aerosol computer cleaners, glue, hair sprays, paint solvents and gasoline are used by many pre-teens to get high. It is more common for 12-year-olds to get high from inhalants rather than other drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and hallucinogens. According to HealthDay.com, more 12-year-olds have used inhalants to get high than all these other drugs combined. These inhalants can be deadly, yet almost seven percent of 12-year-olds say they have sniffed inhalants to get high. “Huffing” or sniffing these drugs can cause sudden death from cardiac arrest, and people who use these products to get high take the risk of getting addicted.

New research shows that many of the same genes that cause people to consume alcohol may cause people to smoke marijuana as well. Despite the fact that marijuana is “the most widely used illegal drug in the U.S…. little is known about the genes that influence its use,” states WebMD.

Portland, Oregon is now on the map as the first location for a marijuana cafe in the United States. Called the Cannabis Cafe, it offers a place for medical marijuana users to “publicly” partake. Publicly is in quotes because all smoking is done out of public view…
The cafe is technically a private club for NORML members and only official medical marijuana cardholders, which is over 20k+ in in the state of Oregon.
