According to Reuters, a new study suggests that babies whose diets consist of only their mother’s milk for the first four months of their lives have a lowered risk of developing asthma later on. When mothers breastfeed, they transfer “good” bacteria, antibodies and proteins through the milk that can prevent infection.

Recently a study was published in the journal of Pediatrics which surveyed close to 2,000 tweens and teenage girls about Camel’s new cigarette ads for their new product No. 9. The teens seemed to be drawn to this pink and frilly ad that was surrounded by lip balm, cell-phone jewelry and purse ads.
MomLogic.com reported that tobacco companies will defend that the product was intended for adults but we all know how tricky marketing companies can be.

According to a recent study, the chance of surviving the advanced stage of lung cancer is a little better than it was 2 decades ago. WebMD reports that “researchers say one-year survival of people with stage IV non-small-cell lung cancer has improved from 13% in 1990-1993 to 19% in 2002-2005.”
The increase is small, so researchers say there is little reason to celebrate. However, there is hope that soon there will be a more significant improvement due to the intense effort and research that is being done on lung cancer.
