According to USA Today, new research shows that teenage girls who frequently drink alcohol might be at a higher risk of developing non-cancerous breast disease in their 20s and possibly breast cancer later in life. Teenage girls who drank the most alcohol, which was about every day, were five times more likely to develop breast problems, such as benign breast disease, later on in life than those who never drank or drank less than once a week.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, you should not drink raw milk. Raw milk hasn’t been pasteurized, “which means there could still be harmful bacteria like E. Coli that are still in it,” reports Nadia Crow from Fox28.com. Some people believe that raw milk is healthier than pasteurized store-bought milk; however, experts say it is just the opposite. In Michigan, 12 people got sick just this month from drinking raw milk that came from a dairy farm in Middlebury.

A new study revealed that drinking red wine might help keep a woman’s weight in check. The study involved 20,000 “trim” women, and “over time, women who drank alcohol in moderation put on less weight and were less apt to become overweight compared to non-drinkers,” reports Megan Brooks from Reuters. Other alcohols such as white wine, beer and spirits also helped at keeping the women in shape; however, red wine proved to be the most beneficial.

We all know that a long night of partying can result in a hangover the next day, but you may be able to avoid the pain by choosing certain liquors over others.
A study was done that involved 95 heavy drinkers, ages 21 to 33, and their job was to get drunk. Not only did they get to booze, but they even got paid for it! The study found that bourbon is likely to give you a harsher hangover in comparison to vodka.

The FDA has concerns with the addition of caffeine in alcoholic drinks. “The FDA today told nearly 30 manufacturers of caffeinated alcoholic beverages that it intends to look into the safety and legality of their products,” reports WebMD.
The FDA has not approved the addition of caffeine in alcoholic drinks, so they sent out requests to the various companies who produce these beverages for evidence that caffeine can be safely added into alcoholic drinks.
