Post image for Candy Could Lead To Depression?

What kid doesn’t like candy? Not many. Research has recently found that children who have an ‘extra’ sweet tooth may be at risk for depression or alcohol problems as an adult. Reports have pointed to particular kids who are interested in sugary treats more than normal – they might become an addict one day. Apparently, these same kids usually have a family member who has an alcohol problem or depression issues. What isn’t clear is whether or not the attraction to sweetness is because of a chemical difference or their upbringing. Researchers report that sweet taste-buds and alcohol ignite several of the same reward circuits in the brain.
