Many people either cringe or squeal when they hear the term, ‘The Hills,” or the name Heidi Montag. As some may know from watching the news earlier this year she has come out of her cocoon revealing a tweaked, mannequin looking, new self.
According to abcnews.com, Heidi had 10 procedures performed in 10 hours including breast enlargements, chin reduction, nose job, ears pinned back, lipo, brow lift, etc. At 23 years old most would think these actions are quite extreme especially for a beautiful girl who looked just fine with the skin she was given. Now critics have been accusing Montag of addiction but she begs to differ, “I think I just look like a different, improved version of myself,” she said.

I am not sure how many of the public noticed a provision in the proposed health reform legislation that would have placed a federal tax on cosmetic procedures. The provision was known as the Bo-TAX and it aroused a unified response from the medical community in general and organized medicine in particular. This proposed tax was a clear example of how out of touch the Congress is with the needs of the public. This always happens in government when those who govern make a career of governing rather than serving the electorate.

Winter time is a time of sharing, caring and the passing of old wives tales. A few MDs did some research to see if these myths were true or false.

…it was with some regret that I watched NBC News last week promote a new breakthrough in fat destruction that would revolutionize body contouring. The breakthrough is a machine that freezes fat causing the fat to self destruct. The expert was one of my most esteemed colleagues who described (promoted) this technology even though it has not passed through any testing by the FDA (or any other scientific body to my knowledge).

You’ve decided you need a dental implant and now it is time to pick the doctor. But how do you decide who you’re going to choose? What do you want in your implant surgeon? What type of qualifications does the person have to have? Dr. Jonathan Abenaim answers these questions.

Although our name, PriceDoc.com, implies pricing for healthcare procedures, we are simultaneously about overall quality transparency. There is no doubt that price is an important part of the decision process in choosing a Provider, however other considerations are equally important.

Here’s a snapshot of where all the providers in our network are located.
Special thanks to our sales team up in Seattle who have been reaching out to these providers, and many more.
In the near future, we hope to integrate this map right into our search so that you can see what we’re seeing! Give us a minute though, cause we’re juggling a bunch of features while still growing the site!

It might come as a surprise, but a lot of the things that run through healthcare news every day are somehow involved with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which was put into law on February 17th – otherwise referred to as the Federal Stimulus Package.
