Most of us are procrastinators. We let things go until the last minute. Papers, magazines, and books pile up on the desk until the process of finding what we’re looking for resembles an archeological dig. Our garages look like our desks. Stuff fills the garage just like stuff covers the desk. Eventually, finding things resembles exploring for treasure in a dark, long-abandoned cave. We’re motivated to clean our desks and garages only by the impossibility of adding any more stuff to the clutter and the piles.

Balance and coordination exist when the body is used for what it is designed for… upright locomotion (walking, running and all other types of movement). Other exercises such as swimming, yoga, pilates, bicycling, martial arts and bodybuilding also help to improve muscle coordination while activities such as working at a desk, reading, and watching television do the opposite for the body.

You are the CEO of your own personal enterprise. In addition to whatever business you might be running or might be in, your personal corporation consists of the value you generate during your time on Earth.

Some persons such as government officials make choices and take actions that obviously affect the lives of many others. For most of us it may seem that we have less scope and reduced impact, but that is not necessarily so. Our choices and actions affect those people closest to us – our family, friends, and colleagues – and their choices and actions affect persons closest to them.

Post image for ‘Uninsured’ will cost $1 billion

The Washington state Insurance Commissioner, Mike Kreidler, reported that the number of Washingtonians with no health insurance will soon grow to 1 million.

He also predicts that the cost of uncompensated medical care in the state will reach $1 billion annually by 2011. “The widespread and growing lack of health insurance in Washington state is hurting families, communities and our state’s economy in ways that we can no longer afford to ignore,” states Kreidler.

Post image for Good Posture – More Than Sitting Up Straight

The ancient Japanese art form of growing Bonsai trees is fascinating. Bonsai trees are essentially normal shrubs that have been consistently stressed in a particular way for a long time to create a posture which would never be found in nature. Depending on how the tree is stressed while it grows, it may end up looking like a miniature version of a full-sized tree, or it may end up looking like a wild tangle of branches with twists and loops. To most people, “good posture” simply means sitting and standing up straight. Few of us realize the importance of posture to our health and performance.

Post image for Strength, Posture and Losing Lower Back Pain

Your muscles function much like the wires that hold up a tall radio or television antenna. If the wires are equally strong on all sides, the antenna will stand up straight. If one of the wires becomes weak or breaks, the antenna will either lean to the side or collapse. The same is true with your body.
