New moms: are you satisfied with your jarred baby food? Ever thought about exploring more organic options?

According to KXAN.com, Nurturme has officially hit the Austin, TX market. Nurturme is an alternative to baby food which has been dehydrated to keep the nutrients and needs either water, breast milk or regular milk to serve. Moms are saying that this new kind of baby food is easy to prepare, easy to transport anywhere – from the going to the park to packing on a plane for vacations. The dehydrated baby food is kept in an easy-to-store pouch which makes it a lot easier for moms to pack for daily outings or vacations.

Austin mom, Caroline Freedman, came up with the idea while she was pregnant with her daughter, then pitched her plan to her friend Lauren McCullough… then Nurturme was born.

“I love it because it’s 100 percent organic – no sugar, no salt, no preservatives. It’s super easy to make,” says Lahmers. For moms like Sarah Lahmers, she has found the food to be one of the only things her 13-month-old son Jett will eat.

Nurturme is currently sold at Whole Foods and Central Market. Support local, try something delicious and nutritious for your baby!
