Traveling a lot this summer, with your family? Getting tired of icky hotel rooms? We may be able to save you!

According to Health.com, there are many things that lurk in hotel rooms that you may not be aware of. Use these clever ways to make your hotel room feel more like home:

  • Always request a non-smoking floor, or at the very least a non-smoking room
  • Hide that mini-bar key… you’re waistline will thank you later
  • Get rid of that bed cover… they usually have dust mites and other creepy things
  • Disinfect immediately! Wipe down the TV remote, phone and other things you might use, like door handles, with an antibacterial wipe before use
  • Do not use the glasses… they usually are not washed properly. Use your personal water bottle or those paper cups that are sealed before use
  • Bring your own snacks. Have fruit handy so you don’t overeat when you eat out
  • Light sleeper? Bring your portable “noise maker” to help soothe you to sleep
  • Exercise! Utilize your hotel room as your exercise room. Try yoga, Tai Chi, or an exercise dvd
  • Do your research! Research what renovations might be going on near your hotel so you can avoid all the loud, obnoxious noises and pollution
  • Inform yourself of where the exits are, just in case there is an emergency

Compare prices to having an acupuncturist help you quit smoking, near your home.
