A study on HIT or “high intensity interval training” at McMaster University in Ontario, Canada reveals a way to get a workout in during a busy schedule.

HIT is a modern and innovative style of exercise. “High intensity interval training” is a great way to exercise when you have a busy day at work or school. With this exercise technique, you will get the same quality of workout in less than half the time as usual.

Researchers explain, “the technique involves running or cycling at almost maximum effort for a minute and then resting for a minute before repeating the process around 10 times”. In just 20 minutes you can get a quality cardio workout in rather than spending an hour or more in a gym. Professor Martin Gibala, one of the researchers, said the study proved that it was “possible to get more by doing less.” This is the perfect exercise solution for someone with a busy schedule.

Make sure to give yourself 5 minutes before and after the high intensity training to warm up and warm down. Warm up and warm down includes stretching and low intensity movements before and after the main workout set. Stretching is especially important if you are exercising for therapeutic reasons.
