Runners want to get the most out of their exercises without the painful injuries. A study done by Harvard evolutionary biologist Daniel Lieberman reveals the reason for the injuries due to running. The injuries occur because of the pressure on the joints and muscles on each step. The study reveals that when a runner is barefoot, each foot is landing down on the most springy part of the foot, causing less pressure on the joints.

David Carrier, a biology professor at the University of Utah, did a study on the human foot and the economy of movement by foot. In this featured article, Carrier told CNN, “If anything it shows how complex our feet are, and how much we’re learning about the mechanics of movement.”

The barefoot buzz offers people who love to run a chance to get back to the sport with out the painful aftermath.

Dr. Perry Julien, a podiatrist has worked with Olympic runner and says, “it is very hard, if not impossible to change body mechanics.” This new style of running may offer a painless way back to the sport you love. Find other interesting and fun ideas about staying fit.

I can personally tell you that my knees and shins cannot uphold the pressure from a run. I am 22, in great shape, and still feel the painful effects from running. This barefoot running buzz is acknowledged by runners because they are constantly interested in the new science of the sport.

Have you ever run competitively? Are you held back from running because of injuries? Name your price for an MRI for your hip, knee, ankle or foot.
