Do you have those tiny bumps on your arms that just won’t go away?? Then you have chicken skin aka keratosis pilaris.
According to HelpForKP.com, this is a common skin condition that affects almost 50% of the adult population and almost 80% of all teens. KP usually appears on the back or the outer sides of the arms but sometimes appears on thighs, butt or other body parts. Sometimes chicken skin can be worse during the winter months or when skin is dry. Oftentimes pregnant women develop this skin condition.
Unfortunately there is no cure for KP, since this is a chronic, genetic follicular disease but there are treatments. There are actually quite a few different types of keratosis pilaris. To help treat KP try: Vitamin A treatments, Glycolic Acid (AHA), Lactic Acid, Microdermabrasion or Urea.
