What man doesn’t take pride in his manhood? Exactly. All. Of. Them. Most men have also heard of ED (aka erectile dysfunction) which they all want to avoid at all costs.
WebMD.com, has recommended some ways to help men steer clear of this predicament:
- Diet: for any part of your health, diet is very important. Men, keep in mind any food that is bad for the ticker is bad for your man parts.
- Weight: packing on the pounds can introduce nerve damage to your penis
- Keep blood pressure and cholesterol low: these can destroy blood vessels which can lead to ED
- Light on the alcohol: a lot of drinking can damage the liver and potentially lead to ED
- Stay physical: swimming, running and aerobic exercises help prevent ED (but steer clear of too much bike riding!)
- Kegels aren’t as helpful as you thought: don’t rely on Kegel exercises to keep from getting ED
- Watch your testosterone level: lower sex drive, indecisiveness and lack in stamina could be symptoms that your manly hormones are dropping
- Don’t take steroids: steroids shrink the testicles and will eliminate the ability to make testosterone
- STOP SMOKING: you all know how I feel about that… so for your penis’s sake… please nix the cigarettes
- Avoid risky sex: yes, your penis has the ability to “break” and it is not pleasant
“Anything that is bad for a man’s heart is also bad for his penis,” says Andrew McCullough, MD, associate professor of clinical urology and director of the male sexual health program at New York University Langone Medical Center.
