Are you one of those people who spend hours on end at your office? If you are, you might want to cut back on those long hours at work because “according to a new study, people who work more than 10 hours a day are about 60 percent more likely to develop heart disease or have a heart attack than people who clock just seven hours a day,” reports CNN.

Researchers aren’t 100 percent sure why this is, but they suggest that with all the time spent at work there is less time to relax and take care of yourself. Stress plays a minor role, and spending long hours at the office appears to “hurt your heart even if you don’t feel particularly stressed out,” reports CNN.

Lead author of the study Dr. Marianna Virtanen says that people need to find the right balance between work and leisure time, and went on to say that doctors “should include long working hours on their list of potential risk factors” for heart disease.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with work, schedule yourself a relaxing massage with a massage therapist near you.
