Do you monitor your habits that have an affect on your everyday health? Exercise, sleep and diet are all factors in acquiring good healthy habits. A good habit for exercise is to keep the workouts consistent. A good way to achieve this, is by having a workout partner… someone to run, swim, or lift with.
Research shows that, “About 6 in 10 adults engaged in at least some leisure-time physical activity, and about three in 10 regularly engaged in some [intense] physical activity.” Working out with a partner or buddy will increase the consistency of your exercise. Checking out social networks or finding neighbors and friends to workout with.
Small changes towards better health habits will go a long way for you. Sleep and dieting are two other factors in creating a healthy Spring season. Getting 7-8 hours of sleep during the week can give you more energy and motivate you to exercise. Monitoring personal sleep habits can also increase mood and productivity. Eating healthy is another step towards a healthy lifestyle.
Working out with my water polo team keeps me motivated on a consistent level. A healthier habit for me would to be monitor my diet. This small change could make a big difference on my performance level in the pool.
