Remember when you mom used to tell you to drink your milk? Calcium helps build and retain strong bones. Vitamin D can also help in keeping bones healthy and sturdy. There are a few foods that can diminish your bone health, we are here to inform you of what these are.

Everydayhealth.com, has broken down the foods that can reduce your bone density:

  • Too much protein
  • A lot of Caffeine
  • Large amount of Vitamin A
  • Sodium
  • Oxalates (another form of salt)
  • Wheat bran
  • Alcohol

“A diet low in fruits and vegetables and high in animal protein and carbohydrates, will tend to result in mild acidosis which, over time, can contribute to significant bone loss,” says Kristine Cuthrell, RD, research nutritionist and project coordinator, Cancer Research Center of Hawaii, University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
