Surfing is a lot of fun and a great way to exercise. Spring time is here and beach season is right around the corner. Now is the time to make sure you are fit enough to get out there and hit the waves.

According to B&W surf fitness, “swimming is obviously the closest to surf paddling, but anything that improves your aerobic conditioning will help.” Here are some exercises to add to your weekly workouts to prepare yourself for a surf.  Working out with a Medicine ball, dumbbell press, medicine ball jump, and close grip pull ups.  These can increase your strength and conditioning to stay fit like a surfer.

Living on the west coast of California, I have adopted the sport of surfing a hobby of mine. I love the sport because it is fun and also a great way to cross train.  During the summer, the off season of water polo, I try to surf twice a day. This keeps me in shape and gives me a good break from training in the pool.
