It is important to get a good nights sleep in order to have a good productive day.  The National Sleep Foundation recommends getting about seven to nine hours a sleep a night. For those who have trouble sleeping at night, there are alternative ways to increase sleep other than the over the counter (OTC) medications.

In this article, written by health.com, research shows 8 natural ways one can gain a better nights sleep. For some, getting to sleep is one of the troubles leading to sleep disorders.  Getting a good nights sleep can held boost productivity throughout your day and can also motivate you to exercise during the day.  I personally feel less stressed during the day when I get a really solid nights sleep.

Some of the natural remedies mentioned in the article include magnesium, calcium, wild lettuce, hops, yoga or meditation, lavender, and melatonin.  Try out some of these natural remedies and see if you can improve your sleep pattern.  If you’ve tried these natural remedies and need to see a specialist, find a doctor near you.
