Are you one of the many people who suffer from fibromyalgia? Did you have any idea how important food is when it comes to this pain? Being selective about the foods you consume could lessen the pain.

Health.com has provided some food tips that can help prevent your pain:

  • Choose fresh- avoid IBS by altering your diet to fresh foods only
  • Stop downing the coffee- caffeine seems to do more harm than good
  • Steer clear of nightshade veggies including tomatoes, eggplant and potatoes- may irritate arthritis and pain
  • Load up on fish- omega-3 fatty acids are heart healthy and help with pain
  • Avoid yeast and gluten- can trigger yeast fungus growth in body= more pain
  • Lactose intolerant- limit your dairy intake- fibromyalgia patients have a hard time digesting dairy products
  • Low-carb/ low-sugar diet- 90% of fibroymyalgia patients become hypoglycemic but experience the bad crash afterwards
  • Diet sodas are not better- they contain aspartame which can escalate pain
  • Don’t eat food with additives like MSG- this high-sodium flavor enhancer stimulates pain
  • NO junk food- irritate muscles, disrupt sleeping patterns and hurt the immune system

Unable to get your pain under control? Have a fibromyalgia evaluation near your home.
