All moms are trying to figure out two things: healthy food and how to save more money. Thankfully, health.com has provided 10 ways to make your doctor proud of your grocery cart!

  • Whole Grain Granola (sprinkle rather than make main course)
  • Baked Pita Chips (try Stacy’s Multigrain Pita Chips)
  • Trail Mix (save for vigorous physical activity)
  • Frozen Meals (nix from your cart completely!)
  • Snack Bars (try Odwalla bars)
  • Fruit Bottom Yogurts (opt for Greek yogurt and add your own fruit)
  • Packaged Lunch Meat (choose plain flavors and add veggies to your sandwich to help spike the flavor)
  • Can Soup (avoid if possible, packed with high sodium)
  • White Rice (use brown rice when available)
  • Cookies and Candy (choose chocolate with 70% cocoa or healthier, non-processed cookies)
