Every mom dreads the ‘terrible twos’. This period is when your baby graduates from babyhood to toddler-hood… many stages take place while your child is a toddler. Even though some may be hard, tiresome and annoying, it’s important to always communicate, repeat and love.

According to MomLogic.Com here are the stages of toddler-hood:

  • Mama- your baby’s first words are magical
  • Bye bye! In your little child’s eyes the world is vastly growing with every second they are alive- they will start to wave to everyone and everything
  • Dolly! Choo Choo!- all of a sudden your toddler is exclaiming all sorts of words, quickly expanding their vocabulary
  • Gimme me! Mine!- this is the start of a lovely battle vs. your child’s ego. All you can do is reiterate why your child should share.
  • NO!!!- For some reason this word becomes the most popular word among toddlers. Communication is key.
  • But why? This mind-numbing stage will last for about as long as they live in your house. These children are new to this world and have a right to ask their parents why things are the way they are.
  • Please & thank you. – Sadly these words aren’t used as often as ‘no’ without you encouraging them to be polite. Continue to communicate with your toddler why it is best to be polite.
  • Don’t! - This word is usually inspired by having a younger sibling who begins to ‘bother’ them.
  • Oweeeee! I have a boo boo! – Seems to follow don’t and quickly followed by asking for a reward. Always kiss boo boos but have a keen eye for when your toddler starts ‘faking’ their injuries for more love and rewards. This may be a sign of your child grasping for whatever attention they can.
