Everyone knows it is healthier to be active; adding diversity to life can only make it better. But who knew that boredom could actually lead to an early death?
According to Discovery.com, researchers published in The International Journal of Epidemiology that those who lead a ‘boring’ life are likely to die at an early age. Although, it is said that boredom won’t be the cause of death, it may be a symptom for dangerous behavior which could be the reason for death. Different experts say connections between boredom and spiked heart problems is a definite possibility. Bored people release harmful hormones in their bodies that stress the heart.
Annie Britton and Martin Shipley of University College London caution that boredom alone isn’t likely to kill you — but it could be a symptom of other risky behavior like drinking, smoking, taking drugs or could lead to psychological problems.
So ladies and gents, be creative in this life. Explore the unknown, travel the world, take an art class, go for a hike or adopt a pet. The more you add to life, the better and longer it will be. The world is your oyster, seize the day!
