Researchers hoped to find certain locations that had a lot of autism cases to examine the area for possible environmental clues linked to why autism rates are growing. In California there were 10 spots that had double the rates of autism, and these locations mainly consisted of white, highly educated parents. Even though researchers were hoping to find environmental clues to explain the increasing rates, “the findings likely say more about the U.S. healthcare system than the causes of autism,” states ABC News. This link to the healthcare system is due to the fact that there are so many people that are uninsured and unable to get their child professionally examined.
Researchers found a significant connection between a parent’s education level and the growing rate of autism. Researcher Irva Hertz-Picciotto states that, “people with a higher education in the United States are more likely to get a diagnosis of autism for their child. It doesn’t necessarily mean that autism occurs more frequently in those families.”

Hilariously, though, the treatment for very slight autism is:
DO NOTHING.
So, why do we want to increase the rate of diagnoses for autism and “autistic spectrum disorders” (Like autism, but not… not same cause, environment, manifestations, etc.) Or, to give another parallel-
This is the obverse view of ADHD. Turned out lots of kids were getting diagnosed with ADHD, kids with highly educated white parents who spent little time with them. However, it soon became fashionable to say, “Keep our kids off drugs; say no to Ritalin!” et cetera. Now it is fashionable to complain that everyone else has poor access to healthcare. Which is it? Both? Neither?
At the end of the day, healtcare -like mortgages- have to be bought and paid for. Doing it any other way seems to result in an enormous national recession.
