Conclusions point to organizations that sponsor meat producers may be flawed. According to the recommendations of WCRF red meat should be eaten quite modestly and salami and ham should never be consumed. A study done by the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition-Oxford (EPIC) reported that people who ate 6-12 ounces per day of red meat were 35% more likely to be at risk for bowel cancer than those who almost never consumed red meat.
