How long do you sit in your dentists chair? Unless you are having major surgery, an hour… tops? That could possibly leave time for another 7 patients that day, and maybe about 40 patients a week… Ever wondered what might be going through your dentists head as they peer into mouth after mouth?

Well, Readers Digest did. July’s issue saw a humerous and eye-opening collection of quotes from a bunch of dentists from across the states. These dentists shared their “inner thoughts” on the multitude of patients they have seen. RD broke these into categories such as: “You Don’t Get It”, “Our Noses Still Work”, “We Choose Our Own Dentists Carefully” and others.

One of my favorite quotes was from Bryan Tervo, a DDS in Trenton, Ohio:

People come to me with a mouthful of tooth decay and say, “I got my grandfather’s soft teeth.” I don’t even know what soft teeth are.

Reading through RD’s “50 Secrets Your Dentist Won’t Tell You” made me think about my first trip to the dentist in 5 years.  Try getting your teeth cleaned… you might be surprised at the changes you decide to make.
