If your face is starting to look a bit worn out and old, don’t blame your genes. Your facial skin actually ages because of too much sun exposure, smoking, and being overweight. A study was done on 65 sets of twins “because twins share genes, but may have different exposures to environmental factors,” reports ABC News.

The study of twins concluded that facial skin ages more from lifestyle and environmental factors rather than genetic factors. ABC News also reported that, “when it comes to skin cancer, the researchers say their findings support previous reports that both environment and genes affect skin cancer risk.”

If you’re looking to revive your look, find a cosmetic surgeon in your area.
