According to a recent study, the chance of surviving the advanced stage of lung cancer is a little better than it was 2 decades ago. WebMD reports that “researchers say one-year survival of people with stage IV non-small-cell lung cancer has improved from 13% in 1990-1993 to 19% in 2002-2005.”

The increase is small, so researchers say there is little reason to celebrate. However, there is hope that soon there will be a more significant improvement due to the intense effort and research that is being done on lung cancer.
