Although our name, PriceDoc.com, implies pricing for healthcare procedures, we are simultaneously about overall quality transparency. There is no doubt that price is an important part of the decision process in choosing a Provider, however other considerations are equally important.
When a consumer reviews a Provider Profile, we encourage them to examine both the credentials and education of the Provider. We specifically allow our Providers the opportunity to list their college, medical or dental schools, and residency training. Also, in the case of physicians, we expect they will provide us with Board Certification or eligibility information. That is why we link users to the ABMS.org (American Board of Medical Specialties) website, pointing the way for examination of their Provider of interest.
Consumers should also consider reviewing State licensure. Again, on PriceDoc.com, we link to the State Boards of Health to insure the Provider’s license is current and there are no pending actions in line. We are proud to offer an easy way for consumers to instantly verify this type of information, which often updates daily.
Provider profiles also include a description of the office staff. Let’s face it, from a patient’s perspective, the staff (nurses, PAs, Dental Hygienists, technicians, etc.) should be qualified and described as well. In many cases the patient will spend the more time with the them than the actual doctor they are going to see.
PriceDoc.com is a living and interactive tool, unlike other traditional directories. Providers can post their hours, services, procedures, and special conditions. They can upload videos and photos of their office and procedures. They can list their office amenities, and even news events. All of this information can be entered and changed at any time by the Provider with a few simple keystrokes, keeping things current.
