Since today is the American Cancer Society’s 34th annual Great American Smokeout, U.S. News has released various methods that have shown positive results in helping smokers quit.
For a while the rate of American smokers decreased, however in 2008, the number of smokers climbed back up. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guess “that 46 million adults were smokers in 2008, about 2 million more than the year before—an increase from 19.8 percent of all adults to 20.6 percent.” Find additional information about the increase of smokers, and what has contributed to it, here.
If you need help quitting, find a doctor in your area to help you break the habit.
