As the US health care reform progresses, brand-name prescription drug prices climb, whereas the rest of consumer goods and services decrease. AARP executive vice president John Rother reports that, “drug makers are raising their prices and enjoying windfall profits, even as the rest of the economy is suffering.”

AFP states that, “The price jumps have raised suspicions that the pharmaceuticals are acting as a hedge against legislation reforming the US health care system.”

If the cost of your prescription drugs has increased, save money on your doctor visits by comparing prices at PriceDoc.
