The FDA has concerns with the addition of caffeine in alcoholic drinks. “Today [they] told nearly 30 manufacturers of caffeinated alcoholic beverages that it intends to look into the safety and legality of their products,” reports WebMD.

The FDA has not approved the addition of caffeine in alcoholic drinks, so they sent out requests to the various companies who produce these beverages for evidence that caffeine can be safely added into alcoholic drinks.
