Have you ever bitten into a Popsicle and experienced a severe pain in your teeth? This could be caused from brushing your teeth too hard, or consuming acidic food and beverages. WebMD reports that, “One-third of 700 dentists surveyed by the Academy of General Dentistry say acidic foods and beverages are the most common contributors to tooth sensitivity, followed by tooth brushing technique.”

When you consume acidic food and beverages, or brush your teeth too hard, it causes the enamel on your teeth to wear down. In order to prevent loss of enamel, follow these tips The Academy of General Dentistry suggests.
