A direct medical practice allows clinic founder Dr. Heidi S. Rendall, M.D. and her staff the time and flexibility to provide the patient-focused health care that today's health care delivery system has derailed. She takes the time to get to know you as an individual, thereby working with you to improve or maintain your health. This is health care with compassion!

Direct Medical Practice - Our Definition

Direct medical practice simply means primary health care at an affordable price without the hassle and limitations of insurance. The time and costs saved by not billing health insurance is passed on to our patients in terms of lower costs and ample time for a personal relationship with your doctor and a focus on preventive health care.

What It Means for Individuals and Families

Imagine having the time to talk to your doctor about your health concerns, ask questions and discuss treatment options! How comforting would it be to have your doctor make a home visit. *Please see News & Events Section on Tabs above.  How reassuring would it be to have your doctor explain in plain English your medical condition, prognosis and interpret test results? Dr. Rendall will be with you every step of the process.   

An Option for People Without Access to Health Care

With the skyrocketing costs in providing workers with health care, many companies are either passing on the costs to their employees or eliminating coverage altogether. If you can't afford to pay those costs or don't have access to affordable health care, a direct medical practice may help you sto afford office visits or ongoing care management.

A Companion Option For Those With High Deductible Catastrophic Insurance with or without Health Savings Accounts

For those individuals with High Deductible Insurance Policies, Direct Practices provide more value for your dollar either through the Single Care Option or by Enrolling with us.  Flat monthly fee or flat visit fee pricing saves money over practices that bill insurers, thus allowing you to purchase more with your Health Savings Account.

How Direct Based Health Care Works

With today's ever-increasing health care costs, many people are finding that health care is unaccessible. It's more important than ever to have an alternative method to receive the health care you need but at an affordable price.  The Direct Practice provides lower costs and higher value by providing all the care you need for a flat monthly fee, in the Enrollment Option and lower office visit costs in the Single Care Option.  Call us for an explanation on how this works

Services Offered

We offer a range of Primary Care services.  As a family practice, we treat the entire age spectrum, from infant to geriatric care.

We at Anchor Medical Clinic have chosen not to participate in Health Insurance Plans in order to spend our time serving your needs rather than those of the insurer.  We believe that each individual patient is unique, with their own health concerns and responses to treatment.  We also believe that consistent and ongoing health care is best accomplished in a relationship where physician and patient can have the amount of time needed to investigate and work on all aspects of the health concerns with out regard to number of visits or the amount of time the visits may require.  We believe and affirm the inherent dignity of each person by the respect and manner in which we build relationships with each individual.

Patient Care Options

Anchor Medical Clinic has two Patient Care Options:

 •         Single Care Option

 •         Enrollment Option

Single Care Option

For those who prefer to pay by the visit, our Single Care Option is a single episode of care, whether that is an office visit or physical.  It is a problem focused and episodic visit. Due to the intermittent nature of this service, prescriptions are written for 90 days and refills require an office visit every 90 days.  Similarly each episode of illness requires an office visit.  Ineligible for this option is care concerning motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries, or chronic pain.  Since there are no extensions of refills, Single Care patients are asked to keep track of their medications and call for an appointment one week prior to the end of the prescription.

Enrollment Option

For those who prefer to have a closer relationship with their physician, our Enrollment Option (a six month commitment required) includes:  as many office visits as necessary in a month to address your health issues, one complete physical exam per year, the availability of telephone consultation access to the physician, and medical form completion.  Because of the more frequent visits for monitoring and health counseling with the physician, prescription refills can be authorized over the phone.  The enrollment fees are structured by age and are payable quarterly, semi-annually and annually.

We accept cash, debit cards, and American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit cards. Established patients may pay by personal check for either prepaid enrollment or at time of service. Contact our office for details.
